THE “AMEYA” (TAFFY PULLER.) The way this child pleasing artist makes hundred and one different things out of taffy without the aid of any instrument, is something wonderful. A bit of taffy is put on one end of a hollow reed, from another end of which he blows the sticky ingredient as easily as he would a soap bubble, moulding it at the same time by one of his hands to any shape or form he pleases. These “made up” taffies are stuck on the nails and exhibited for sale. His coming, generally signalled by trumpet, is welcomed by children who gladly invest their cent in seeing the clever art of tha taffy peddler. |
